Dashboards

Build drag-and-drop dashboards of metrics and charts, pick your home page and share a public link.

A dashboard is a grid of cards you arrange yourself: headline numbers, charts, saved insights, notes and live widgets. Dashboards are shared with everyone in the project. The project Home page is a dashboard too.

Build a dashboard

  1. Dashboards → New dashboard. Start blank, or from Overview with live game numbers, daily players and top events.
  2. Click Add to open the card library.
  3. Click Customize to drag cards by their title and resize them from the right edge, the bottom edge or the corner. Changes save as soon as you let go. Undo (or ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z) takes back the last move.

New cards are placed for you: a metric goes next to the other metrics, a chart next to the last chart if there's room, and a heading starts a new row. Cards can't overlap, and each kind has a minimum size so it stays readable.

The library has:

CardShows
GameA live number from your Roblox game: playing now, servers now, players, new players, sessions, hours played, Robux, purchases, paying players, errors or crashes today, D1 retention or average session. It compares with yesterday at this time and refreshes on its own: every 10 seconds for playing now and servers now (with a pulsing live dot), every 30 seconds otherwise. Count over today (the default) or a rolling window such as the last 15 minutes or last hour. The dashboard's date range doesn't apply to it.
MetricOne big number with the change against the previous period and a sparkline. Ready-made ones include active people and sessions. Custom metric lets you pick any event and measure, such as the sum of $robux on $purchase.
ChartA trend, funnel or retention chart that lives on the dashboard. You don't need to save it as an insight.
InsightA saved insight. Edit the insight to change it.
TextA section heading or a note.
WidgetTop events, the live event stream or recent changes.

The date range and Compare to previous period at the top apply to every card, and they're saved with the dashboard.

Card options

Click the pencil on a card while customising to change how it looks:

  • Caption: one line under the title.
  • Number format: number, compact (12.3K), currency, percent (0.42 shows as 42%) or duration.
  • Chart: line, area, bar, stacked bar, stacked area, donut, pie, number or table. Donut and pie show the shares of a breakdown, for example sign-ups by source.
  • Colour: the colour of the first series.
  • Better when (metrics): pick Lower for numbers like churn or errors, so a drop shows in green.

Saved insights take these options too. Their query is still edited in Insights.

On phones, the grid becomes a list: metrics two per row, everything else full width, in the same order. Rearrange cards on a desktop.

Home page

A new project's Home page is an Overview board. It opens with four live game numbers (Playing now, Players today, New players today and Robux today, each against yesterday at this time), then daily players, top events, live events and recent changes. Customise it like any other dashboard.

To make another dashboard your home page, open it and choose ⋯ → Use as home page.

Share creates a read-only link like https://app.rochart.co/share/shr_…. Anyone with the link sees the dashboard live, without an account, and can switch between 24h, 7d, 30d, 90d and 12m.

  • Shown: card titles, numbers, charts and their labels, headings, notes and top events.
  • Never shown: queries and filters, cohort definitions, individual people, raw events or your project token. The live events and recent changes widgets are left out.
  • Numbers refresh every minute; dashboards with game cards every 15 seconds.
  • Links unfurl in Slack, X and iMessage with the dashboard and project name.

Reset link issues a new URL and turns off the old one. Switching sharing off turns off the link too.

Ask an agent

Agents can build and read dashboards too. For example: "Build a launch dashboard for Saturday's update: players per hour by platform, the tutorial funnel, D1 retention of this week's new players and Robux per day."

An agent describes the whole dashboard in one call: sections with headings, and rows of cards with size hints such as small, medium, large or full. RoChart turns that into a tidy grid. Every row fills the full width and cards in a row share one height, so there are no gaps or overlaps. When an agent reads a dashboard, it gets an outline of the layout and a list of anything that looks off, such as a half-empty row. It can then tidy the dashboard in one more call. See Agents.
